WEARSIDE’s business community is getting ready for the highlight of its year.
The Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards 2012 will be presented in a glittering ceremony at the Stadium of Light tomorrow evening.
And once again, city legal firm Mortons will be playing its part.
For the last five years, Mortons has sponsored the awards’ goodie bags.
Mortons staff will be celebrating their own year to remember tomorrow.
Since adding its branch in Seaham to the head office in High Street West last year, business has gone from strength to strength, with both sites offering a full range of services to business and private clients.
Managing partner Angela Ashcroft said: “There has been a constant increase in instructions at both offices from existing and new clients alike, with a particular growth in the commercial sector.
“Residential conveyancing has also had a distinct increase indicating a healthy market.”
Senior partner David Place added: “Our continued sponsorship of the Portfolio Awards is our way of supporting local business and celebrating its success.
“As a local business, Mortons has had to take much of its own advice and has adapted to the ever-changing environment.
“It is particularly proud of how hard its own staff have worked to enable new areas of its business to grow.
“Mortons staff have continued to work extremely hard over the past 12 months in challenging times. Our vision of delivering knowledgeable business and employment law advice to the local business community has been very successful. We hope to further develop our range of services over the coming year.”
Mortons offers a full range of advice in respect of: commercial and domestic conveyancing, business and employment, licensing, general civil litigation including personal injury claims, family and matrimonial law, wills, probate and affairs of the elderly, including powers of attorney.
Apprentice star Katie Hopkins will be entertaining the audience with tales of her TV experiences and will culminate in the Business of the Year award presentation.
