A MASTERPLAN has been drawn up to boost a community’s economic prospects.
The regeneration scheme will provide a programme of activity that will help to revitalise Chester-le-Street town centre and tourist attractions.
It will go before Durham County Council Cabinet members on Wednesday.
Councillor Neil Foster, cabinet member for regeneration and economic development, said: “Over the course of the last 10 years investment of more than £5million in the town has helped attract new retail facilities, expand business space and develop tourism and leisure opportunities.
“We now need to further stimulate regeneration activity and to guide investment and growth in order to build upon the potential of Chester-le-Street as a vibrant place to live, work and visit.”
