BOSSES at a Sunderland contact centre are hoping to create up to 300 new jobs after landing a number of high-profile contracts.

Doxford International-based 2Touch has secured a five-year six-figure contract to provide marketing and fulfilment services to fast-growing e-commerce retailer Duvet and Pillow Warehouse (DAPW).

The news comes as the firm has seen a surge in sales from £14.4million to almost £20million and increased its workforce from 700 to almost 1,000, with hopes of as many again to come by 2014.

2Touch managing director Stuart Gray believes the firm has benefited from the move away for traditional high-street shopping.

“We are receiving more and more work from clients that are keen to grow their on-line sales,” he said.

“We are delighted to be working with Duvet and Pillow Warehouse. We see e-commerce as a key driver in the growth of our business and the commitment and ambition of the DAPW team is aligned perfectly with our own.

“We’re looking forward to working closely with DAPW and helping it realise its goal of becoming the biggest and best retailer of duvets and pillows in the UK.”

Established in 2006, DAPW has a range of more than 500 products and has experienced annual growth of more than 40 per cent, requiring it to look for a partner to help fill its orders.

Co-founder and managing director Charles Hunt said: “Over the past 12 months, it became clear we needed a new fulfilment partner to work with us to build on the successes already achieved, develop new sales channels and services, and provide the expertise and infrastructure to support our ambitious growth targets.

“After looking very carefully at the market 2Touch stood out from the crowd.

“Its superb facilities are backed up by a management team that understands the e-commerce market and is willing to invest in new and exciting businesses like our own.

“In the end, the decision was easy. 2Touch was the only company that could offer everything we needed under one roof, and was able to put in place a structure that supported our business.

“That’s why we signed up for a long-term partnership and we are confident 2Touch will deliver a top-class service and help us build brand loyalty in a very competitive market.”
