Fire safety specialist MacDonald Martin is expanding its premises after landing a deal to give the boys in blue a helping hand.

The Leechmere firm is doubling its office space after signing contracts to provide support services to two Northern police forces.

“We have been trading for 15 years,” said founder Andy Trafford.

“It started as literally just myself and we have gone up to 21 members of staff over that period.

“We are a one-stop shop for fire safety and security and we are electrical contractors as well.

“We have just won two three-years contracts with the police forces of West Yorkshire and Northumbria, which has enabled us to take on more office staff as well as another engineer. We have grown year-on-year event since we started and have taken on three apprentices and two engineers in the last 18 months.”
