More than 60 new jobs for Sunderland as B&M to open new store

Retail chain B&M is to open a new store in Sunderland, creating more than 60 new jobs.

The company has announced that it will be opening a brand new store, complete with its very own garden centre, in Ryhope.

The store will create more than 60 new jobs at the former B&Q store on Ryhope Road and follows on from the retailer opening another store in Roker.

The Ryhope store is due to open on Saturday, August 6 at 9am.

B&M is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers, stocking a variety of branded products including toys, food and drink, pet products, health and beauty and electricals.

The new store will also have a DIY, decorating and furniture range, as well as a garden centre.

Store manager, Jayne Kemp, said: "We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

"We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door in August."
