WEARSIDE Masterchef star Stacie Stewart has cooked up new jobs.
Stacie’s career has gone from strength-to-strength since she made the final of the top-rating show, with regular guest slots on ITV’s This Morning.
Now the opening of a new test kitchen at the North East Business and Innovation Centre (Bic), in Sunderland, will allow Stacie to expand her brand, take on larger and more prestigious contracts, and create three full-time posts.
In the year since her appearance on Masterchef, the 29-year-old former St Anthony’s School pupil has embarked upon further TV appearances and taken steps towards building her business, while continuing to work full-time as a PA for a Tyneside firm.
Now she is going full-time in the kitchen with her Beehive Bakery, supplying customers locally and nationally.
Stacie, from Whitburn, said it is: “really fulfilling to now be able to create employment for others”.
She said: “I never imagined when I started selling cakes a year ago that I would have built up the enterprise enough to occupy a commercial unit so soon.
“The Bic is a tried and tested environment for small businesses to grow, so I’m hoping that in a year or so I can move to a larger unit on site and increase sales towards commercial retailers, such as supermarkets.”
David Howell, Bic director of operations, said they are “very excited” about having Stacie and her team onsite.
