LIEBHERR boss Ralph Saelzer is in no doubt about the benefits of entering the Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards.
The Deptford-based firm scooped the Employer of the Year title at last year’s ceremony and our judges were fulsome in their praise.
“The winner in this category prides itself on the family values it passes on to its employees and has a loyal workforce who know they have job security,” they said.
“This company feels it has a moral obligation to train the next generation and considers itself a global company with a local commitment.”
Peter Walls, chief executive of sponsor Gentoo, presented the trophy to Ralph Saelzer, Brenda Forster and Stephanie Hogan.
“We were absolutely delighted to achieve this prestigious award,” said Mr Saelzer.
“This sense of pride was also mirrored by our employees, who are proud to be associated with an award-winning organisation.
“The award has had a real positive impact on employee morale.
“The application procedure was straight forward, with a simple application form to complete.
“The time involved to pull the application together was definitely well spent.
“We would strongly encourage others to consider applying for the Portfolio Business Awards.
“The awards recognise and reward the excellent business practices that take place in local companies in our region, which should be celebrated.
“Very best wishes to those taking part this year.”
