A NEW tea room is hoping to attract sweet-toothed customers to Sunderland’s sea front.
The owners of Sunderland’s Roker Hotel have spent £100,000 converting the property’s Thai China restaurant into a new tea room and cakery.
Let There Be Crumbs opens tomorrow, creating ten jobs as part of Tavistock Leisure’s long-term plans to revamp the hotel.
Hotel owner Mark Hird said: “Tearooms have grown immensely in popularity in recent years and we hope that including one inside the new Best Western Roker Hotel will not only serve to satisfy modern tastes, but increase our appeal for seaside visitors, as well as hotel guests.”
Other plans for the hotel include developing a new brew pub and re-launching as a four-star Best Western Plus property by the end of 2014.
