THE North East has come last in a list among the 11 UK regions for total regional property wealth.
The region’s figure came to £162.9billion, according to property website PrimeLocation.com.
Surrey is the richest county in the UK when it comes to property, the website said.
Its homes have a total value of almost £288billion, representing 5.1 per cent of the UK’s £5.6trillion overall property wealth.
Property analyst Nigel Lewis said: “Property wealth per head is driven by one key factor – demand.”
