THE hunt is on to find the best building apprentice in the region.
The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) is looking for the North East’s top apprentice to go on to be in the running to be crowned the best in Britain.
The search comes as research reveals in Sunderland more than half of people surveyed thought school leavers should learn a trade.
A further one in six advised them to take up an apprenticeship.
The competition, which is run in conjunction with the FMB’s Master Builder of the Year Awards, is open to apprentices working for any construction company.
The overall winner will scoop a £1,000 cash prize.
