A TOWN is urged to get its dancing shoes on tomorrow to back a campaign to improve its fortunes.
The team behind the bid to win Seaham support and funding from the Mary Portas pilot programme, and the Big Lottery Fund, are to create a promotional video to showcase its potential.
Rehearsals have been held ahead of the day for a flash-mob style routine to LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem, with the dance named the Seaham Shuffle.
Steph Guidi, one of the lead businesses in the campaign, said: “This will be a great opportunity for people to make a difference to Seaham, get some exercise and have a lot of fun.”
The event will start at 10am tommorrow.
Dancers should meet in Church Street for a practice run before filming begins.
No dress code has been set out.
People are invited to wear what they wish and all ages are welcome.
Once edited, the three-minute footage will be uploaded to YouTube as part of the Portas bid.
Bid documents must be submitted in coming weeks.
