THE head of one of East Durham’s biggest firms will give other businesses the benefit of his experience later this month.
Phil Handley, managing director of Caterpillar, will be the key note speaker at the region’s biggest engineering and manufacturing exhibition, Oktoberfest 2012, on Thursday, October 18.
Mr Handley is expected to speak on a range of business topics when he takes part in an “in conversation with…”interview with David Baxter, of South Tyneside Business Network.
John Lyle, of organiser Engineering Clusters County Durham predicted the fifth annual event would be the most successful yet. With up to 100 exhibitors expected, organisers hope to exceed last year’s footfall of almost 1,000 visitors.
“Phil’s presence has given Oktoberfest 2012 a tremendous boost,” he said.
“He is incredibly well respected in the region and will add significantly to the event bringing with him vast experience of how successful business is done.”
