BUSINESS is turning into a family affair for a Wearside mum and daughter.

Lisa Fox, 45 and her 28-year-old daughter Nikki have set up a new website which they hope will give women the chance to dress up in style.

The site, called www.thefashionbible.co.uk has taken months of hard work by the Washington duo to get off the ground.

Lisa, who also works as a careers advisor, says that the website is something she has always wanted to do.

“We just love fashion,” said Lisa, also mum to Lee, 27, and Josh, 19.

“That is what has inspired us to set this up.”

North East-based Visualsoft has also helped to develop the website, which sells vintage dresses as well as accessories and footwear.

Lisa says that her experience from working in business development stands her in good stead for the challenges ahead.

She also says that despite juggling her job and new business, the effort is all worth it now that the website is up and running.

“I’ve worked full-time, from 9am to 5pm, then as soon as I’ve got in each night, I’ve been looking at stock I need to buy to sell and then keeping on top of things.

“I had a night out the other weekend for the first time in months and months.”

The fledgling business is also embracing social media to build up the brand, with profiles on both Facebook and Twitter.

“A few people are writing blogs for us too, so that’s been a big help,” added Lisa, who cited husband Gary, 48, as a another big source of help during this first phase of building the firm.

“He’s been a really good extra pair of hands recently.”
