ANY business is only as good as its staff – and there is still time to honour your high-achievers in the Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards.
That’s what Oliver’s Dental Studio did for Katherine White last year.
“I was completely shocked,” she said. “I had no idea that I had even been nominated. It is something I will take with me for ever.”
Oliver’s also walked off with our Employer of the Year award.
“I was thrilled to win because it was excellent recognition for all the things I have done in the practice but you have got to be given those opportunities in the first place,” said Katherine.
“We were absolutely thrilled to win both awards.
“The Portfolio presentation dinner is always an absolutely brilliant evening, but winning the awards made it an amazing night.”
There is still time to stake your claim for a share of that excitement, with the deadline for entries set to expire at the close of business tomorrow.
As well as our overall Business of the Year award, categories are: Small Business (up to 10 employees); Medium Business (11 to 50 employees); Large Business (over 50 employees); Employer of the Year; Employee of the Year; Technology; New Business (under two years); Special Community Award; Green Business; Training; Export; Leisure and Creative Industries.
Entering the awards is free and could hardly be easier, with everything done online.
Sunderland City Council is again our main sponsor, and our Lifetime Achievement Award will be in the council’s gift.
Other sponsors include Grafton Group, Mortons, The Bridges, Azure, CES Group, Northumbrian Water, SAFC, Sunderland University, Thompson Waste Centres, Gentoo and TTR Barnes.
