COMMUNITY Energy Solutions is delighted to be offering others the chance to follow its lead at the Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards 2012.
Since claiming the Green Award in 2010, the community interest company has been working with local authorities, social landlords and households across the country to deliver more cost-effective and affordable heating.
This has included partnering with gas pipeline owner Northern Gas Networks to provide more than £2million worth of free connections to thousands of homes previously without a mains supply.
This year, the company also started working on the two biggest Community Energy Savings Programme (CESP) projects in the country, in Stockton and Middlesbrough, delivering a package of energy efficiency measures to more than 1,900 homes.
The GoWarm Gresham and GoWarm Parkfield schemes, which are worth a combined £11million overall, are also expected to cut the region’s carbon emissions by an estimated 290,000 tonnes a year.
Having recently moved from Boldon to larger premises in nearby Jarrow, CES is now looking forward to an equally prosperous future and to the Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards 2012, where the company is sponsoring the Technology award for a second consecutive year.
Karen Hindhaugh, Director of GoWarm, part of the CES Group said the company was proud of its association with the awards:
“Having previously been a proud recipient of a Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Award, CES is delighted to be continuing in its role as sponsor for the second consecutive year and would like to wish 2012’s entrants the very best of luck.”
This year’s awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Stadium of Light on October 11, with Apprentice star Katie Hopkins as guest speaker.
