Managing director Les Cooper described it as “a huge reinvestment in their industry leading online asbestos awareness course”.

He said: “This launch of the enhanced version of our training course will be the UK’s first and only fully responsive online asbestos awareness course, making it more convenient than ever for the construction industry and self-employed to fully comply with the latest Government regulations on asbestos training.”

The new training course will enable employers and the self employed to complete and gain a fully approved certificate on all internet enabled devices, including an enhanced version for iPhone, Android and tablet.

UKasl has also invested in a suite of Health and Safety online courses aimed at the construction and refurbishment industries. They include Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Emergency First Aid and Working Safely.

This massive move forward for our company once again demonstrates our drive and commitment to maintain our position as the UK’s premier asbestos awareness and management training providers

Mr Cooper added: “This massive move forward for our company once again demonstrates our drive and commitment to maintain our position as the UK’s premier asbestos awareness and management training providing company.”

The new courses will be available this autumn.

UKasl excels in asbestos-awareness training to keep people safe from the dangers of what has become known as ‘The Hidden Killer’ material.

It provides training to the construction industry, where illnesses related to asbestos claim the lives of up to 5,000 people a year.

Mr Cooper said he was delighted to be supporting the competition. UKasl was established in 2003 and clients include housing associations, local authorities and private companies, who are required by law to manage any asbestos risks in properties they own or are responsible for.
