BUSINESSES can get PR advice straight from the horse’s mouth at a special event next week.
Sunderland Echo business writer Kevin Clark will be guest speaker at Sunderland Business Network’s meeting at the North East Business and Innovation Centre on Tuesday evening.
“Effective PR” will see Kevin provide some valuable hints and tips on content, format and pictures that make any press release stand out from the crowd – as well as outlining some of his pet PR hates and an insight into how NOT to raise your business profile with the press.
“As business writer on a daily paper, I get bombarded with press releases every day and it takes something quite special to make your release stand out,” said Kevin.
“I’ll be highlighting the good, the bad, and the downright ugly of PR and addressing some of the common mistakes businesses make, as well as offering a few tips on how to maximise the return on your investment both financially and in terms of time.”
Kevin will also give an insight into how technological developments are affecting the media and what he sees is the future for the Sunderland Echo.
The meeting will also include the Network’s annual meeting.
The meeting, which will run from 6pm to 9pm, including networking time, is open to all. To book a place, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 375 5700.
