Unemployed young people and students from Peterlee will get the inside track on employment opportunities in the food and drink industry when they visit PepsiCo’s Walkers plant.

The firm is taking part in the IGD’s ‘Feeding Britain’s Future Month’ during September.

Now in its fourth year, this collaboration between the Government and food and drink industry will provide around 60,000 opportunities for young people across the UK.

Peterlee site manager Joanne Abbott said: “Our team is delighted to be getting behind ‘Feeding Britain’s Future’ again this year and doing our bit to help teach young people the skills they need to get that crucial first job.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for young people from the local area who are struggling to find work, or who are interested in finding out more about our industry, to see what we do.”
