BUSINESS owners will put Sunderland City Council’s top brass under the spotlight next week.

Sunderland City Centre Traders’ Association is holding a question and answer session with council leader Coun Paul Watson, and a host of senior officers on Tuesday.

Association chairman Harry Collinson is predicting a big turnout and plenty of debate about the work under way in the city centre.

“As well as the council leader, it looks as if we are going to have the chief executive, the deputy chief executive and a lot of the officers there,” said Mr Collinson.

“I will do an update about what has been happening in the city centre and we will have people there from the rates department.

“There will also be people who will be able to talk about development and the roadworks.” Other organisations involved in the city centre will be on hand to deal with inquiries about their work.

Mr Collinson added: “The Business Improvement District team is going to be there and Sunderland Live will also be present,” .

“It is going to have stalls so businesses can go up and ask about what is going on.”

Tuesday’s question and answer session will be held at the Software Centre, in Tavistock Place, from 5.30pm. To confirm attendance, e-mail sccta@wear1city.co.uk
