A BUILDING control squad has been labelled top notch.
After a round of inspections, the Durham County Council team has been successful in its bid for the prestigious Customer Service Excellence accreditation.
The award, presented at the Gala Theatre, is the successor to the much sought-after Charter Mark.
The department’s duties include ensuring buildings are erected in the right places to the right spec and to the correct standards.
Cabinet member for regeneration and economic development, Councillor Neil Foster, said: “The Customer Service Excellence accreditation is a very difficult standard to obtain and the fact that the team is one of just two regionally to reach this standard speaks volumes.”
