FIREFIGHTERS say a large blaze at a Sunderland business park is under control.
Around 25 firefighters and numerous emergency service vehicles are at the scene of the fire at a derelict property on the Alexandra Business Park.
Large plumes of smoke can be seen drifting into the sky from the business park.
A spokesman for Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service said: “We have had around 25 emergency crews and senior managers at the scene.
“Water is being put on to the building from an aerial platform to attack the fire.”
The brigade was called to the scene at around 5.15pm on Sunday.
There is a fear there are gas cylinders inside the building which measures approximately 330 feet by 660 feet.
