FASTER broadband will be available to a further North East 46,500 homes and businesses, it has been announced.
Seaham and Whitburn are the among the latest communities in the North East to be included in the roll-out of BT’s next generation broadband service delivered over copper lines.
They are due to be upgraded by spring next year.
Meanwhile, residents, businesses and community groups are urged to show support for the roll-out of high-speed broadband across County Durham.
Durham County Council has already been promised almost £7million by the Government.
But as part of the conditions of securing the money, the council must prove there is a demand for the service.
The authority is, therefore, urging as many people as passible to take part in a short survey, at www.durham.gov.uk.
