East Boldon Methodist Church, on the corner of Bridle Path, will hold one of its coffee mornings on Wednesday, November 4, from 10am.

Various activities are availablethis week at East Boldon Library, Boker Lane, East Boldon, including a Pumpkin Patch Baby Bounce on Thursday from 10am to 10.30am and on Friday there will be a drop-in Halloween craft session from 2pm to 3pm.

The Boldon Miners and Community Banner Group will meet in the Robert’s Room of the Boldon Community Association Centre in New Road, Boldon Colliery, on November 3 at 7.30pm.

Members of the Fellowship of the Services will meet in The Grey Horse in East Boldon at 9.30am as usual for the Remembrance Day march. They will leave at 10.15am on Sunday, November 8, for a short service in St George’s Church and then on to the cenotaph for 11am. The veterans will be joined by East Boldon Guides, Cubs and Scouts.

A general sale will be held at Boldon Auction Galleries tomorrow at 10am and on Wednesday, November 11. The next fine art and antique sale will take place at the Galleries on Front Street, East Boldon, at 10am on Wednesday, December 9.

East Boldon Infants School will hold a toy service on Monday, November 20, at 2pm in St George’s Church. The school will again be supporting the North East Giving Tree Appeal, which supports disadvantaged children and young people in the local area and the North East. Parents are being asked to support by donating a wrapped gift for a boy or girl.

Hairdressing and beauty treatments at competitive rates are available to members of the public at Boldon School. The salons continue to provide a range of professional treatments and services done under the watchful eye of the team of staff who operate within industry alongside their teaching commitment. Ten members of the Simply Football Group at Boldon School were treated to a tour of St James’ Park during Activities Week. They toured the ground and the stands and were shown the private boxes including Alan Shearer’s Wor Box.

The next Jarrow, Boldon Community Area Forum meeting will take place in Boldon Community Association Centre, New Road, Boldon Colliery, in the Robert’s Room at 5pm on Thursday, November 26.

The Friends of East Boldon Parks invite you to a Halloween in the Park event in Grange Park, East Boldon, on Saturday from 3pm to 5pm.Cost is £1 per child. This will be a spooktacular event with a Spooky Ghoul Hunt, Fancy Dress competition, Pumpkin competition and Halloween themed refreshments. The event is subject to weather.
