Ten young people from South Tyneside Positive Activities and Targeted Youth Support Group (Boldon Youth Project) have been undertaking The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.

This has entailed completing three months physical activity, three months skill (training) and six months volunteering activity. On Saturday, September 19, they attended a two-day and one night practice expedition at Akenshaw Cottage in Keilder. As part of the expedition they had to complete 12 hours of walking, bush craft, planning activities and camp out overnight in order to complete the full award. This was very challenging but they all worked very hard as a team and completed the challenge. They have now taken part in the actual expedition in Northumberland.
