A BODY recovered from the River Wear at Durham today is believed to be that of missing student Euan Coulthard, say police.
A member of the public reported seeing a body in the river at around 9.15am and specialist police divers began a search near to Framwellgate Bridged.
A post-mortem examination will take place later.
A formal identification is yet to take place but Mr Coulthard’s family has been informed of the situation.
Euan, 19, who is studying law at St Mary’s College, was last seen leaving Loveshack nightclub in the Walkergate area of Durham City late on Wednesday, January 14.
Durham Constabulary tweeted from their @DurhamPolice account: “Police recover body from River Wear believed to be that of missing student Euan Coulthard - formal identification yet to be carried out.”
