A CARAVAN, speedboat and three cars were set on fire in Sunderland this morning.
Firefighters from Sunderland central station were called to Hylton Castle’s Coleridge Road at 2.20am where a speedboat on the drive of a home was well alight.
Watch manager Don McAneny said the boat was completely destroyed, but luckily the crews prevented the blaze spreading to the house.
Shortly after dealing with this incident the crews were called at 3.20am to nearby Craigavon Road where the caravan and three cars were alight in a small parking area.
He said the caravan and a Renault Clio were completely destroyed, a Nissan Qashqai was badly damaged and a Mini was slightly damaged.
Mr McAnaney, said it was lucky no-one was injured in the incidents or that anyone was sleeping in the caravan.
He said: “This sort of thing is just mindless.”
