WIND caused Santa a few problems at the weekend.
Gusts on Friday caused damage to the sails of Fulwell Mill just hours before Father Christmas was due to make an appearance.
He was paying his annual visit to the heritage spot to dish out some early presents and check Wearside’s children had been good boys and girls.
In a bid to avoid the inevitable tears that cancelling the visit would cause, organisers moved Santa’s grotto from inside the mill to the visitors’ centre.
That gave meant Saturday and Sunday’s event still went ahead, giving youngsters a chance to speak to Santa and give him their lists.
The sails will now be fixed, although forecasters are predicting another spell of very windy weather tomorrow.
