A BLACK Cats superfan who was the first to get his hands on the new red-and-white stripes declared: “I can’t wait for the season to start.”
Lifelong supporter Bazza Huston got up in the early hours to get himself in the queue for the new SAFC home shirt, which went on sale yesterday morning.
Bazza, 23, of Hebburn in South Tyneside, said: “I’m just so happy to be the first one to get the shirt because I was last time the new shirt came out as well.”
Bazza is also hoping that Sunderland continue their good pre-season form in their next game in the Barclays Asia Trophy in Hong Kong.
Paolo Di Canio’s men came from 1-0 down to win 3-1 against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, thanks to goals from summer signings Cabral and David Moberg Karlsson, with Wes Brown also scoring a header. The Lads play Manchester City in tomorrow’s final.
Bazza said: “I’m confident we will get somewhere this season, and I am 100 per cent behind Di Canio all the way.”
Sunderland start the season at home to Martin Jol’s Fulham on Saturday, August 17.
