TINY Jennifer Anderson was just minutes away from the perfect birthdate.
The tot was born on 12/12/12 – at 12.19pm.
Proud mum Elaine, 34, of Tunstall, gave birth to Jennifer Elizabeth, at Sunderland Royal Hospital, by planned Caesarean section and weighed 9lbs 3oz.
She said: “It’s quite surreal really.
“It’s the last time in our lifetime that we will see this date.
“It’s unique and I hope it brings her luck.”
Elaine, who tied the knot with husband Stephen, 28, on a yacht in Cyprus last June, said he picked the date especially.
“He had wanted us to get married on that date but I wanted a summer wedding so we had our baby on that date instead,” she said.
Jennifer will be going home today to meet her big sister Caitlin Robinson, 12, whose birthday is on April 4.
Elaine added: “Jennifer looks like her dad and Caitlin looks like me. We can’t wait to get her home and nice and settled in time for Christmas.”
Megan Taylor, 16, from Haswell, County Durham, also give birth to her daughter on the special day – the last day of the century when the date, month and year match.
It will be just over 88 years before 01/01/2101 comes around.
Olivia Grace was born at 1.42am at Sunderland Royal Hospital, weighing 8lbs 5oz.
Megan, who attends Easington Academy, said she was “worried but excited” when she found out she would be a mother for the first time but thinks that being born on this date makes Olivia even more special.
She added: “She’s got a good set of lungs on her but she’s doing great and I have lots of support.”
