A MOTORCYCLIST became trapped under a bus after a crash on a busy road.
It happened in Front Street, near the junction with Dairy Lane, in Fence Houses, yesterday afternoon.
It’s believed that the male biker collided with another vehicle and was sent flying from his bike, before skidding under the Go North East bus, which was stationary at the time.
He suffered back injuries in the smash and is now recovering in hospital.
The Air Ambulance arrived at the scene, but the man was taken to hospital by road.
A spokeswoman for the Ambulance Service said: “We got a call at 1.35pm to say that a man was trapped under a bus in Front Street.
“The man was cut free by fire service personnel and taken to the RVI in Newcastle for treatment.”
