BIKE-RIDINGS yobs damaged 15 cars in a late night rampage.
The louts, who were wearing hoodies, took offence when asked to curb their behaviour in the early hours of the morning.
Police are now looking for three young men who are thought to have caused the damage in Whitburn.
They were in Cedar Grove when a man asked them to stop being noisy.
Rather than do as he asked, the trio damaged the wing mirror of his car.
They then fled and damaged the wing mirrors of another 14 cars in Farrow Road, Wellands Lane, Parry Drive, Hillside Drive and Fieldside, all in Whitburn.
Detectives are now appealing to any witnesses in the area at the time to come forward.
Officers are hoping to hear from any residents who have CCTV covering their property, which could be used to help to trace the gang.
Sergeant Jon Commons, who covers Whitburn, said: “Mindless vandalism such as this is completely unacceptable.
“We want the community to help us in identifying who the youths are, so we can make sure they face the consequences of the distress and inconvenience they’ve caused to the people who have had their cars damaged.
“If anyone has any information we want to hear from them. In particular we’d like to hear from any residents who have CCTV systems installed as it may help us identify the youths.”
The incident happened at about 1.15am on Saturday.
Anyone with information should call Northumbria Police on 101, extension 69191 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
