COMMUNITIES across Sunderland took part in a national drive to bring neighbours together.
Big Lunch events were held across the city yesterday, which encourages people to have a meal with their neighbours once a year for a few hours of community friendship and fun. One of the biggest Big Lunches in Sunderland was at Lambton Street Youth and Community Centre in Ford Estate, hosted by Gentoo Project.
Michelle Meldrum, managing director for Gentoo Operations, said: “This year’s event was our best yet.
“The day was filled with fun, food and entertainment
“It’s such a great event to put together and our team worked hard to make the day a success. Seeing people enjoying themselves and meeting new people makes the planning worthwhile.”
