SHOPPERS were seeing double when Miss Sunderland came face to face with herself in the Bridges.
As part of her role as the prettiest girl in the city, Philippa Attle has had huge pictures of herself put up in the shopping centre to help promote this year’s competition.
Philippa said: “I did not realise it was there at all.
“I just came round the corner and was completely shocked to see it.
“It is so tall and big but it is very lovely and a really nice thing. It was a total surprise and I had no idea that it was going to be at the Bridges.
“My grandma rushed down when she heard and she told me she was really proud of me.
“I do not think my friends will be able to believe it when they see the size of it, but I know they will be really excited.”
Miss Sunderland organiser Simon Robertson said: “I am really hoping it will get a lot more attention, now this is up.
“To see something like this in the Bridges shows how far it has come and raises the bar even further for the coming year.”
He added: “It is fantastic for Miss Sunderland and we have been working towards this for a while.”
