A beauty queen hit the beach in the hope her entry into a national modelling competition will be a ‘shore’ thing.
Jade Bambrough, 21, from Thorney Close, stopped walkers in their tracks when she posed on a Hartlepool beach for a series of shots.
The resulting images will be used as her portfolio entry into Top Model of England 2015.
The Marks and Spencer insurance worker will compete against wannabe catwalk queens from around the country in the final, which will be held in Barnsley in November.
Jade is no stranger to competitive modelling, she’s competed in Miss 24 Carat, a Wearside-based pageant, for three years, as well as this year’s Miss Sunderland.
She hopes her experience will stand her in good stead and help her to steal the Top Model of England modelling contract. The contest has been set up by Alexandra Devine who is, herself, a former Miss Sunderland.
“I’ve loved taking part in the pageants in Sunderland and was looking for something else to try,” she said. “I spotted Top Model of England on social media and decided to enter because it’s a bit different, as it’s a runway-based competition.
“It wasn’t too cold when I did the photo shoot and I really like the photos. Alexandra took the photos and she made me feel really comfortable. “There was quite a few people on the beach looking at what we were doing, but it was quite early so there wasn’t too many people about.”
The photos will form 20% of her entry into the competition. She will also be taking part in an anti-fur campaign as part of the contest.
If successful in the final she will win a modelling contract with Gap Models, £1,000 cash, will become the face of The Dressworx Modelling, a photoshoot and portfolio, as well as clothes and jewellery.
She said: “I suffer a lot from low confidence, but being in the pageants has really boosted my confidence and prepared me for a competition like this.”
She added: “I love to meet new people and experience new things and being given the chance to compete in Top Model of England will give me the opportunity to do that.
“My goal is to make my family and city proud and win the title of Top Model of England 2015.”
