“We’ve got each other’s back” – is the theme of this striking body art.
Sunderland artist Karen Cessford, from Kismit Street Art and Body Painting, teamed up with three former North East soldiers to create an image to remember the fallen.
Leo Berry, Jack English and Mick Sanders, who served together in the First Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, pose for photographers Paul Cummings and Andrew James Grant.
Karen said: “The basis of the shoot is to show the connections and bond that the armed forces and ex-armed forces community has with each other. The artwork is to symbolise the collective ‘We’ve got each others back’ even after service. “The images on their backs are of themselves whilst serving, but painted on each other’s back to show this statement.”
