Babel flies to Spurs for talks

Ryan Babel is rumoured to be on the verge of a shock £9m move to Tottenham, according to Sky Sports.

The Liverpool man has failed to make an impact at Anfield during his three-year spell and now finds himself behind David Ngog in the pecking order.

The Dutchman cost Liverpool 11.5m when he signed in July 2007 from Ajax and was touted as the next big thing.

He has made 82 appearances in his time on Merseyside, scoring 11 goals, and was part of the Dutch squad in the 2010 World Cup but did not play a single game in South Africa.

Babel is rumoured to be flying to North London discuss personal terms.
