FAMILIES are laughing and learning together with the Foundation of Light.

The Pattons, from Easington Lane, stepped out on to the pitch at the Stadium of Light, after being named winners in SAFC’s official charity’s Top Scorer Awards.

A ceremony at the ground on Saturday marked the awards, which celebrate those who have taken part in Foundation of Light programmes.

The award-winning family – mum Elizabeth, 45, dad John, 45, and sons Ewan, nine, Adam, seven, and six-year-old Ethan – celebrated their success in the Learning Together award at half-time, during the Black Cats’ clash with Manchester United.

Elizabeth thanked everyone involved, adding: “It was a fantastic day. The boys were just in awe of where they were, as they’re Sunderland through and through.”
