POLICE are hunting suspected arsonists after three cars were set on fire.
Firefighters were scrambled on Thursday after two cars were set ablaze in Chepstow Street and one in Tintern Street in Millfield, Sunderland.
It’s not known when the fires were started, though Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service contacted police about the incident at 9.50pm that night.
Police officers are now keen to hear from any witnesses to the incident.
A police spokeswoman said: “It’s believed the fires were started maliciously and police are carrying out enquiries to find those responsible.”
Anyone with any information should contact police.
