POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an arson attack at a house in Sunderland.
The fire happened at a house in Geddes Road, Grindon, at 12.25am on Tuesday.
The homeowner put the fire out prior to emergency services arrival and no-one was injured during the incident.
It’s believed an accelerant was put through the letter box at the address and set alight.
Officers are carrying out house to house inquiries and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact them.
Two men were seen in the area around the time of the incident and police would like to speak with them as they may have information to help inquiries.
Extra officers are out on patrol in the area to offer reassurance to residents.
