Arson attack on BMW parked on Sunderland street
An inquiry is under way after a blaze was started deliberately, leaving a car badly damaged.
Police were called to Tilbury Road in Thorney Close, Sunderland, at 11.50pm yesterday.
A BMW 7 Series was found on fire in the street.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: "It is thought the fire was started deliberately and the incident is being treated as arson.
"Officers are carrying out inquiries and anyone with information is asked to get in touch."
