Arrest in fire probe

A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at a flat.

 Firefighters were called to a fire at a two-storey block of flats in Runcorn Road, Red House, early on Tuesday morning.

 The door to the first-floor flat was damaged after the blaze broke out at about 8.50am.

 The rest of the property was damaged by smoke and heat.

 There was no one in the flat at the time.

 Police today said a 40-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson and has been released on police bail.
