ARMY cadets have fought their way to top spot of a first aid competition.

Six members of Durham Army Cadet Force’s took part in the National and Inter-Services First Aid Competitions at Royal Air Force base at Cranwell, in Lincolnshire.

Both competitions featured an aerial theme and cadets were met with multiple ‘casualties’ suffering a host of injuries.

The Durham team featured Cadet Sergeant Rebecca Dewhurst, from Sunderland, who attends the TA Centre, in Dykelands Road, Seaburn, and Cadet Serjeant Daniel Wilkie, from Ryhope.

The cadet team took the title of ACF National First Aid Champions.
