Passengers faced a second day of misery today after thieves struck twice on Metro tracks.
Services were again suspended between Pelaw and the Stadium of Light after thieves stole overhead equipment from two locations on the line.

Copper cable was taken from Tilesheds, Boldon, and Millfield, Sunderland, in thefts today and yesterday.

Services were running early this morning after yesterday's theft, but were suspended again after a few hours.

Temporary shuttle buses were brought in while engineers worked on repairs.

Metro services resumed at about 9am.
