A staggering £2.5million has been raised by the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
Today marks a year since the footballing legend lost his fifth battle against cancer, but his legacy lives on as the charity he set up continues to help other cancer sufferers.

The cash – which includes thousands of pounds raised by Johnny Bliss, of Washington, who devoted the final months of his life to raising cash for the charity before losing his own fight with the disease in March 2009 – has been used to provide top-quality facilities for people with cancer across the region.

Liz Luff, foundation spokeswoman, today described Sir Bobby's dedication to his charity as "inspiring".
