Janice Murray, the mum of war hero Michael Tench who was the youngest soldier to die in Iraq, has sent her sympathies to Pte Cuthbertson's family.
In January 2007, her 18-year-old son was killed in a roadside blast in Basra as he was patrolling the area in a Warrior armoured car.

Today, Janice, 46, of Carly Hill, said: "My heart does bleed for his family and for the two other families.

"You do expect to hear of death when you have family members in the Army but you never expect to come home to it.

"I've only just started now sitting in my own house on a Sunday. It's the first time since January 2007 and I know I'm never going to get that knock again but it's still gut-wrenching to think it's still going on.

"I send my deepest sympathies to the three families."
