The youngster, who was off school with a migraine, was with a friend on Railway Terrace North when police believe he was chased by two youths before slumping to the ground.

Jordan, who suffered from a pre-existing medical condition, was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A 17-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 08456 043 043.
