Murder charge denied

A manhas denied murdering a young mum who was beaten to death in her home.








Stuart Cummings, 26, yesterday pleaded not guilty to the murder of mum-of-two Kelly McKitten, 31.

Ms McKitten – who had worked at Pelton Fell Workingmen's Club, which was run by her parents – was found dead in her home at Gardiner Crescent, Chester-le-Street, in February.

Cummings, of Derwent Close, Sacriston, was remanded in custody and will be tried by a jury at Newcastle Crown Court on August 4.
