Mums and their babies have celebrated a breastfeeding group's second birthday.
Over the past two years, La Leche League (LLL) Tyne and Wear, which has monthly meetings in Washington, has helped more than 200 mums to breastfeed their babies.
LLL is a worldwide organisation designed to encourage breastfeeding through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information and education.
Breastfeeding is the ideal way of providing infants with the nutrients they need for healthy growth and development and helps protect them from infection and diseases.
LLL Tyne and Wear, which also offers telephone help and lending library, is run by volunteers and with support of an Awards for All lottery grant. For more information, log on to www.llltyneandwear.edgoose.co.uk
