A handcuffed fugitive last seen in Sunderland was still on the run today.
Scott Trevor King escaped from Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead, yesterday while he was receiving treatment.

The 27-year-old had been taken there by officers from Washington Police Station after being detained earlier in the day.

Police launched an extensive search around Sunderland Enterprise Park, Hylton Riverside, after reported sightings of King.

King was wearing a green top, blue jogging bottoms and black plimsolls and has silver-coloured handcuffs around his wrists.

A police spokesman said: "While we have no information that he is dangerous, we are advising the public not to approach him if he is sited."

This was the second escape from a hospital this year. In January, Lee Nevins spent six days on the run after fleeing prison guards while he was being treated at Sunderland Royal Hospital, before being caught in Scotland.
