Upset Terry Telford has offered a cash reward after thieves stole a wheelchair used by his "little princess".
Danica Green's wheelchair disappeared from outside her Sunderland home last Friday evening.

Now charity champ Terry – who was engaged to Danica's mum – has hit out at those responsible.

"There are no words in the dictionary to describe the person who put Danica, my princess, in the position she is today, and for someone to take away her mobility away from her – the only words I can say are vermin and scumbags.

"These people need to be caught sooner rather than later. If they can do a despicable thing like this who knows what they can do in the future.

"Danica's been through a life-changing experience through no fault of her own. This is the last thing she needs and I want to see these people brought to justice.

"I'm offering £100 to anyone with information and ask them to contact me or the police in confidence."

Devoted Terry, 42, has completed fun-runs and bungee jumps to help raise thousands of pounds for Danica.

The 12-year-old has had to endure a series of painful operations during the past year, including having her right leg removed.

Surgeons amputated the limb from the knee down after she was struck by the hit-and-run driver who killed her cousin, Paula Stead.

The Pennywell school pupil relies on her wheelchair to get about after surgery in December left her in too much pain to walk.

Thieves struck outside her St Luke's Road home on the Ford Estate just after Danica and mum Claire, 30, had been to visit friends.

Now Terry, from Grindon, wants the community to come forward with information so those responsible can be named and shamed.

"Someone in the community must know something. A £100 isn't a lot of money, but I think someone will come forward."

Anyone with information about the theft can contact Terry, tel: 07810431711 or the police on tel: 08456 043 043.
